Julie and I just spent 2 nights in South Haven, MI at a B@B. We celebrated our 5th anniversary early by picking raspberries, blueberries, and visiting other U-pick farms in the area. It was sweet and fresh. A little time away before little one comes.

Bookcase, Again
Well, no one took my bookcase bait, so I'll just have to blatantly brag about my husband. :) Here's the story.
During spring break I went to LA, and while visiting Laura Groen, I discovered that I loved her cube bookcase from IKEA and had the perfect place for it in our trailer. I showed Dan the bookcase on the IKEA website and saw that it was $200. He was convinced he could make one for much cheaper, but it would have to wait until fall when the farm season slowed down. I accepted this news, even though it meant I would have to wait to unbox and organize all my books until after Little One was born.
So about a week and half ago I traveled to Denver for the National Writing Project Scoring Conference, and when I returned, Dan surprised me by showing me the completed bookcase! And since no one wanted to guess the price of it, I'll just tell you: a Saturday afternoon of work + $2. Brilliant. :)
